On October 9, 1942, Vaughn Kimball, a former BYU quarterback who left school in 1941 to join the Naval Reserves, sent the now famous telegram, which read, "Saturday, there is one thing more important than the war and that to beat Utah. This accomplishment would aid the moral of twenty five thousand alumni and aid the war effort, so give em he__, Brigham give em he__." Couldn't have said it better ourselves. #GoCougs!
